Overview
Kobe Animal Kingdom is an animal and flower park located on Port Island in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. Centered mainly in and around a greenhouse, it features numerous plants and many birds kept in free flight. Since its 2014 renewal, the range of animals on display has increased considerably.

History
The park opened on 15 March 2006 as one of several theme parks created by Japanese botanist Kamo Mototeru, originally under the name Kobe Kachoen. On 20 November 2013 Kobe Kachoen went bankrupt; the management rights were acquired by Kobe Animal Kingdom in March 2014, and on 19 July 2014 the park was renamed Kobe Animal Kingdom.

The park is located on Port Island in Chuo Ward, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, and can be reached by public transport from the surrounding urban area.
Best season
As an all-weather park, it can be enjoyed year-round, and its greenhouse displays are little affected by the weather.
