Mount Otoko is a 57.5-meter hill in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, standing northwest of Himeji Castle and known as a viewpoint from which the castle and the city spread out below can be seen.

History
The hill is home to Otokoyama Hachimangu and Senhime Tenmangu shrines, whose approach paths double as one of the hiking routes. The view of Himeji Castle from here has been recognized as one of the "Ten Views of Himeji Castle" and one of the "Senba Eight Views," and it has long been cherished as a scene symbolizing the castle town.
Access
Three trails lead up the hill: one from the north side, one from the south beside Mizuo Shrine, and one along the approach to Otokoyama Hachimangu and Senhime Tenmangu on the south side — each maintained with roughly 200-plus steps. The hill is within walking distance of the area around Himeji Castle.
Best season
Being a low hill at only 57.5 meters, it is easy to climb year-round, but the clear air of autumn and winter offers especially vivid long-distance views paired with the castle.
