Overview
Genbudo is a cave-and-cliff site on the east bank of the Maruyama River in Akaishi, Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture. It is designated a national natural monument and lies within the San'in Kaigan National Park. Together with Genbudo, the caves of Seiryudo, Byakkodo, Nan-Suzakudo and Kita-Suzakudo are maintained as Genbudo Park.

History
Genbudo is designated a national natural monument and lies within the San'in Kaigan National Park. Its name comes from the Black Tortoise, one of the four guardian deities. In Genbudo Park, the caves of Seiryudo, Byakkodo, Nan-Suzakudo and Kita-Suzakudo are maintained alongside Genbudo.

The site lies on the east bank of the Maruyama River in Akaishi, Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture.
Best season
The cave and cliff scenery can be viewed year-round. On fair days the rock faces are clearly visible.
