Overview
Tenninkyo Onsen is a hot spring along the Chubetsu River in Higashikawa, Kamikawa District, Hokkaido. Set within Daisetsuzan National Park, it lies at the bottom of a deep ravine of columnar jointing. It was once known as one of the mountaineering bases for the Daisetsuzan range.

History
Tenninkyo Onsen was once known as a secluded retreat of Asahikawa and served as one of the mountaineering bases for the Daisetsuzan range. Afterward, lodging facilities closed one after another, and as of 2026 only a single lodging remains.
Access
The spring lies along the Chubetsu River in Higashikawa, Kamikawa District, Hokkaido. Located within Daisetsuzan National Park, it is reached by the road leading to the bottom of the ravine.
Best season
The ravine of columnar jointing stands out in autumn, when the surrounding trees turn color. The fresh greenery of spring is also well suited to walking the ravine.
