Overview

History
Sōyamisaki Lighthouse was established on Cape Sōya in Wakkanai. Together with Wakkanai Lighthouse, it faces the opposite shore across the Sōya Strait and has long safeguarded the strait's shipping route. A lighthouse also stands on the opposite Cape Nishinotoro (Russian: Cape Krillon).
