Miyajima Public Aquarium is a municipal aquarium in the Miyajima district of Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. It opened in 1959 and carries the nickname "Miyaji Marine." Based on the guiding themes of "healing" and "interaction," it exhibits creatures centered on the Seto Inland Sea.

History
Miyajima Public Aquarium opened in 1959. Before the merger with Hatsukaichi, it was operated as the Miyajima town aquarium. Its design was handled by Daiken Sekkei. It is affectionately known by the nickname "Miyaji Marine."

The aquarium is on the island of Itsukushima (Miyajima) in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. It can be visited while touring Miyajima.
Best season
As the exhibits are mainly indoors, it can be enjoyed year-round. If combining a visit with Miyajima sightseeing, the mild spring and autumn are easiest for getting around.
