
Overview
Ōhamasaki Lighthouse is a lighthouse on Innoshima Island in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, in the central part of the Seto Inland Sea. It was completed in 1894 (Meiji 27). It stands at the foot of the Innoshima Bridge, overlooking the Mekari Seto strait that lies between Innoshima and Mukaishima islands.

History
The lighthouse was completed in 1894 (Meiji 27), during the Meiji era. A tide-gauge station was placed to its west in the same year. Later, a signal station dating from 1910 (Meiji 43) was built on high ground to the south of the lighthouse; today it is preserved as the Lighthouse Memorial Hall within Innoshima Bridge Memorial Park.
