Marina Hop

Overview

Marina Hop was a large seaside commercial and leisure complex in Kanon-shinmachi, Nishi Ward, Hiroshima City. Opened on March 17, 2005, it combined restaurants and shops with a Ferris wheel and was enjoyed as an integrated leisure spot beside Hiroshima Kanon Marina. Inside it also housed the Mariho Aquarium, and it became known as a waterfront destination where visitors could spend a full day shopping, dining, and playing while taking in views of the Seto Inland Sea. History

Marina Hop opened on March 17, 2005. Designed by Azusa Sekkei, it began as a mixed-use leisure complex that made the most of its seaside location next to the yacht harbor, serving as an ancillary facility of Hiroshima Kanon Marina. From its opening it featured several attractions, including a Ferris wheel and the Mariho Aquarium, and it was used by the people of Hiroshima as a waterfront hub combining shopping with leisure.
