Overview

Roadside Station Nishiaizu, nicknamed "Yorisse," is a roadside station along National Route 49 in Nozawa, Nishiaizu, Fukushima Prefecture. It pre-opened in 2004 and had its grand opening on September 3 of the same year.

History

The station pre-opened in 2004 as "Koryu Bussankan Yorisse" and, after being registered as an official roadside station, held its grand opening on September 3 of the same year. At opening it featured a vegetable direct-sales stand, the restaurant Furusato Yakuzen Ichii, and a tourism corner for the sister city of Hirara, Okinawa. A road information facility began operating in March 2005, and that July, a ceremony unveiling Akabeko and Shisa statues was held to mark the sister-city agreement with Hirara. In August 2016, the adjacent "Mineral Vegetable House" opened, and in May 2017 new road information facilities and restrooms came into use.
