Access

The mountain sits on the border between Uonuma in Niigata Prefecture and the town of Tadami in Minamiaizu District, Fukushima Prefecture, with trailheads accessible from both sides. Checking trail conditions and transport schedules before setting out is advisable.

Best season

As a mountain area, it is most comfortable to hike from summer through autumn when the trails are in good order, while the snow season calls for proper equipment and experience.
