Overview

History
Work on Matsuze Dam started in 1959 and finished in 1963. Since then it has served as a dam for power production. Its catchment area is about 87.6 square kilometers, and when full it impounds a water surface of roughly 9 hectares, able to store about 506,000 cubic meters of water. It has steadily carried on its role as a facility supporting local electricity.
