Overview
Rokuroshi Kōgen is a highland that stretches across the cities of Katsuyama and Ōno in Fukui Prefecture. It sits on a plateau at an elevation of roughly 400 to 700 meters at the foot of Mt. Kyōgatake, in the northeastern part of the Katsuyama Basin. The entire area is designated as Okuetsu Highland Prefectural Natural Park, and its open highland scenery and rich nature are its main appeal.

History
The whole of Rokuroshi Kōgen is designated as part of the Okuetsu Highland Prefectural Natural Park. In addition, the Katsuyama side of the highland was certified as part of the Dinosaur Valley Fukui Katsuyama Geopark on October 28, 2009.
Access
The highland spreads as a plateau at the foot of Mt. Kyōgatake, straddling the cities of Katsuyama and Ōno. As it ranges in elevation from about 400 to 700 meters, please check maps and official information for detailed routes and local transport.
Best season
Because it is a high, open highland, a stroll here is especially recommended from early summer, when the fresh greenery is dazzling, through the crisp days of autumn.
