Overview
Ōno Castle was a Japanese castle in the city of Ōno, Fukui Prefecture, in the former province of Echizen, and is also known as Echizen Ōno Castle after the old province name. Built in the Sengoku period, it served as the administrative seat of Ōno Domain until the Meiji era. In 2017 it was selected as one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles (No. 138).

History
Built during the Sengoku period, the castle was occupied by a succession of daimyō of Ōno Domain under the Edo-period Tokugawa shogunate, and its domain office remained until the Meiji era. The present keep was constructed in the Shōwa era. In 2017 it was selected as one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles.
