For details on its history and designation, please check official sources.
Access
The mountain lies in the highlands south of the Matsuyama Plain, near the boundary of Toon City and Kumakogen Town. Visitors generally travel southeast by car from central Matsuyama. Access to the trailheads and parking availability can vary with the season and road conditions, so please confirm public transport options and trail details with the latest official information before setting out.
Best season
Each season offers its own appeal, from the vivid fresh greenery of spring and early summer, to the cool refuge of summer, to the colored foliage of autumn. Because the summit is higher and cooler than the city, it is a fine escape from summer heat. In winter, snow and ice are possible, so proper gear and attention to road conditions are essential.
