Overview
Ōnogahara is a highland area at the western edge of the Shikoku Karst in central Ehime Prefecture. The name refers both to the district and to the surrounding highland and mountain area.

History
Most of Ōnogahara falls administratively within Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture (formerly Nomura Town, Higashiuwa District). The area close to the border with Kochi Prefecture is called Genji-ga-Dama, and the area to its south belongs to Yusuhara, Kochi Prefecture.
