
Overview
Kujukuri Beach is a sandy beach stretching along the Pacific coast of eastern Chiba Prefecture, from Cape Gyobu to Cape Taito, and is one of the largest sandy beaches in the Japanese archipelago. About 60 kilometers long, it is known as the second longest beach in Japan. A popular spot for swimming and surfing, it is designated as part of Kujukuri Prefectural Natural Park.

History
Its name is said to derive from '99 li,' a measure of distance. The whole coast is designated as Kujukuri Prefectural Natural Park and is also selected among Japan's 100 finest white-sand-and-green-pine landscapes.
