
Overview
The Port of Chiba is an international hub port spanning the cities of Chiba, Funabashi, Ichikawa, Narashino, Ichihara, and Sodegaura in Chiba Prefecture, on the inner reaches of Tokyo Bay. As the core port of the Keiyō Industrial Zone, it is counted among Japan's three great ports and three great trade ports. Covering some 24,800 hectares, it boasts the largest port area in Japan.

History
The port opened in 1954 and is designated a special port under Japan's Port Regulation Act. It handled the second-largest cargo tonnage in the nation in 2022, growing into one of Japan's foremost logistics hubs.
