Tokyo DisneySea is a theme park in Maihama, Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, forming part of the Tokyo Disney Resort. It opened on 4 September 2001 and is known as the only Disney park in the world built around a sea theme. History
The park opened on 4 September 2001 as one of the facilities making up the Tokyo Disney Resort. From its opening it was conceived as a Disney park built around the sea.

Because the park centers on outdoor waterfront spaces, milder-weather periods suit strolling. Visits timed to the events held in different seasons are also an option.
