History
The comprehensive park opened in October 1996 and takes its name from the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. In TripAdvisor's "Travelers' Choice: World's Popular Tourist Spots 2015," it ranked third in Japan in the theme-park category, behind Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
