
Overview
Asamushi Onsen is a hot spring located in the Asamushi area on the eastern edge of the city of Aomori, Aomori Prefecture. Developed as a leisure destination with sea bathing, skiing, an aquarium, and an amusement park, it flourished and came to be known as the "Atami of Tohoku" and the "inner parlour of Aomori." It lies at the base of the Natsudomari Peninsula, which juts out into Mutsu Bay.

History
The hot spring lies in Asamushi in the city of Aomori, in the former province of Mutsu. It developed as a leisure-oriented resort and thrived as a seaside onsen town, earning the nickname the "Atami of Tohoku" after the famous Atami Onsen in Shizuoka.
