History
Lake Iruka is an artificial agricultural reservoir located in Iruka in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. On 25 March 2010 it was selected as one of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' "100 Best Reservoirs." In 2015 it was further registered as a World Heritage Irrigation Structure by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage. Its scale and value as a facility supporting agricultural water are widely recognized.
