Overview
Heiwa Park is a public park located in Chikusa-ku (partly extending into Meito-ku) in the eastern hilly area of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Together with Higashiyama Park it forms the "Nagoya Higashiyama Forest," and it ranks among the largest urban green spaces in Japan. Its name derives from the word "peace."

History
Heiwa Park was developed through a large-scale land readjustment project after the war. In the course of this work, many cemeteries within Nagoya were relocated into the park. Today it is known as one of the city's foremost cherry-blossom spots and stands among the largest urban green spaces in the country. Its name was chosen in reference to "peace."

The park lies in the eastern hilly area of Nagoya, in Chikusa-ku (partly in Meito-ku). It is best to plan your visit according to the transport options available from the city center.
Best season
The cherry-blossom season in spring is the greatest highlight, drawing many visitors to what is one of the city's leading cherry-blossom spots.
