Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a municipal zoo and botanical garden within Higashiyama Park in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. History
The park opened in 1937 and has a long history. Within its grounds is the attached Higashiyama Botanical Garden, and it retains structures designated as Important Cultural Property of Japan.

Best season
Both animals and plants can be enjoyed in every season, but spring, when the flowers bloom, and autumn, when it is comfortable to walk outdoors, are especially recommended. The morning hours, when animals are more active, are also a good time.
