The Toyota City Museum is a general museum located in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture. It opened on 26 April 2024 on a site next to the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art. Its permanent displays relate to the natural and human history of the area, and special exhibitions are also held.

History
Opened on 26 April 2024, the museum supersedes and replaces the former Toyota City Museum of Local History, which opened in 1967 and closed in 2022, and it also inherits the functions of the Toyota City Hakken-kan. The building was designed by architect Shigeru Ban, and its gardens were created by Peter Walker, as were those of the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art.
Access
Located in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, the museum stands next to the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art within the grounds of the former Shichishu Castle. Its location makes it easy to visit together with the art museum. Please check maps and official information for detailed routes.
Best season
As the displays are mainly indoors, it can be enjoyed year-round, but the comfortable daytime hours of spring or autumn are ideal if you combine it with the adjacent gardens and art museum.
