
Overview
The Port of Nagoya, on Ise Bay, spans Nagoya City along with Tokai, Chita, Yatomi, and Tobishima. Opened in 1907 and known locally as Meiko, it is one of Japan's busiest trading ports by value. Famous as a car-exporting port, its Garden Pier area also gathers visitor attractions.

History
The port opened in 1907 and was developed as a modern harbor at the head of Ise Bay. It is designated an international hub port and a specified port, and, together with the Port of Yokkaichi, one of the designated ports under government ordinance. It grew into one of Japan's principal trading ports on the strength of exporting cars and other industrial goods.
Access
The port lies in Minato-ku, Nagoya, and neighboring areas. The Garden Pier area can be reached by rail from central Nagoya, but please confirm detailed routes on maps or official information.
