Overview

Owari Fuji is a 275-meter mountain rising in the southern part of Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture. Its well-balanced shape earned it the name 「Fuji」, and it is counted among the Owari Sanzan, the three representative mountains of the Owari region around Inuyama. Near the summit stands a hall of the Owari Fuji Omiya Sengen Shrine, and the mountain is widely known for the Ishiage Festival, in which stones are carried up and offered at the top. An easy-to-climb hill, it offers both faith and fine views.

History

Owari Fuji has long been an object of worship, drawing reverence centered on the Owari Fuji Omiya Sengen Shrine at its foot. Access

The mountain lies in southern Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, near latitude 35.34, longitude 136.98. From the Nagoya area, take the Meitetsu Inuyama Line toward Inuyama, then enter the trail from the side of the Owari Fuji Omiya Sengen Shrine at the base. Best season

As a 275-meter hill, it can be climbed through all four seasons. The fresh green of spring and the autumn foliage are especially pleasant, and the mountain grows lively with worshippers during the Ishiage Festival.
